Q&A
What is Top Doc Concierge?
A compact patient-based concierge medical practice tailored to patient experience and ensuring these patients get the best possible care available.
What is a concierge practice?
A concierge cash based practice is a primary care model of healthcare that prioritizes patients by getting rid of the bureaucratic red tape and insurance. At Top Doc, we offer patient care that is immediate, thorough, comprehensive, specific, affordable, and completely personalized.
What kind of training do primary care physicians usually have?
To be considered a well trained and appropriate primary care provider, a physician should have completed a 3 year residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. They should also be board certified in either of those two specialties relative to which residency was completed.
What sets Top Doc Concierge apart from other practices?
Top Doc Concierge provides patients the best possible primary care available. Dr. Moradi is the sole physician that personally manages each patient in the practice and coordinates the clinical support team including NPs and office staff. Dr. Moradi completed his Internal Medicine residency and ECMO training in the army and subsequently completed trauma and cardiac critical care fellowship with further ECMO training at Cooper University Health Care System. He is board certified in the specialty of Internal Medicine and subspecialty of Critical Care Medicine in addition to certifications in Extracorporeal Life Support and Emergent Neurological Life Support.
Will I benefit from a concierge practice if I don’t require frequent medical attention?
Absolutely! The better your medical care is, the less of it you need. We might argue that everyone benefits from a service tailored directly to them. That’s why we offer truly personalized healthcare. Our practice is devoted to the maintenance of your good health and to the enhancements of your daily life experience.
Does Top Doc Concierge accept health insurance?
No. Happily, no. Perhaps the most critical distinction in our model of healthcare is a direct, personal relationship between you and your doctor. That directness carries over to our business model as well. Insurance companies may work to replace a damaged bumper on a car, but we should not be at their mercy for your medical care. We forgo insurance payments in order to save our patients from the arbitrary, intrusive decisions that inevitably follow with third-party payors. Furthermore, this direct fee-for-services arrangement frees us from the typical contractual agreements that prevent physicians from offering wholesale prices on laboratory tests, imaging, and medications.
As a patient of Top Doc Concierge, will I still need health insurance?
Yes. We recommend our patients continue a major medical plan with a health savings account to ensure financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary. Also, under the Affordable Care Act, concierge medicine is not considered an acceptable non-insurance option.
If I have Medicare, can I still join Top Doc Concierge?
Yes. You need only sign a waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations prescribed by our offices. We are happy to refer you to insurance representatives who can help customize an insurance plan to your specific needs.
Is my membership to Top Doc Concierge tax deductible?
Seemingly YES. Under IRS code section 213, payment made for concierge medicine, also known as a "direct medical care arrangement" is a deductible medical expense. We recommend you confer with your tax consultant to clarify tax consequences in your particular circumstances before making any decisions.
What happens if I need to go to the hospital or see a specialist?
In providing superb care with unprecedented sorts of access, we seek to prevent or reduce hospitalizations and specialty referrals. When referral is necessary, we have a network of relationships with the most skilled and supportive doctors in 3 major cities spanning across the state of Florida. No more waiting months for specialist referrals, our patients get seen within a week.
Can children become members of Top Doc Concierge?
No, We support clients that are 18 years of age and older. We do have a partnership with Pediatricians and are glad to support referral for their services.
Can I contact my physician after hours for emergencies? And if so, how?
By all means, yes! Because illness and injury do not respect regular office hours, you may call your treatment team any day, at any hour.
What if I need medical attention while I’m traveling?
Naturally we provide such care – yet another freedom we enjoy together as a result of Top Doc Concierge independence from the restrictions of third-party payment. Because we know you well, we can streamline your care when you’re sick while away from home. Many illnesses can be diagnosed and treated with a simple conversation by phone, email, text or webcam. We can also call in prescriptions to your nearest pharmacy. No delays, no waiting in lines at urgent care clinics or emergency rooms!
Are my medical records ever shared with insurance carriers or pharmaceutical companies?
We maintain scrupulous standards of privacy. We are never obligated to provide any third party with a copy of your records unless you specifically ask that we do so.
How will I know if Dr. Moradi and Top Doc Concierge are right for me?
We run a very specialized practice with limited availability for enrollment. All of our patients have either had direct contact with Dr. Moradi in the hospital setting or have been referrals from standing patients. There is an interview/meeting required before enrollment to ensure the patient-physician relationship is a good fit for both sides. We enjoy long term relationships and care plans with our patients.
